Kathleen A. Cooney, MD, Duke University, “Genetic Susceptibility for Prostate Cancer”

Kathleen A. Cooney, MD, is chair of the Duke Department of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Cooney specializes in the care of men with advanced prostate cancer, and is a physician scientist investigating the genetic epidemiology of prostate cancer. She earned her MD from the University of Pennsylvania, and trained in Internal Medicine and Hematology/Oncology at the University of Michigan (UM). She was chair of internal medicine at the University of Utah and division chief of Hematology/Oncology and deputy director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center at UM. She joined Duke University in 2018.
