Medicine Grand Rounds – Dr. Gregg Silverman: “Rheumatoid Arthritis: From Genes to Joints”

Dr. Gregg Silverman, NYU Professor of Medicine and Pathology and Co-Director of the Muskuloskeletal Center of Excellence, will discuss the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis, incorporating environmental factors, genetic pre-dispositions, and the development of a diverse group of autoantibodies, paying particular focus on anti-citrullinated protein antibodies (ACPAs) and the role of B and T-cell activation in breaching immunologic tolerance.
