Morgan Jones, MD,  received his medical degree at the University of Toledo School of Medicine and then went to the Medical University of South Carolina for his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in endocrinology. In 2017 he came to the University of North Carolina as a clinical assistant professor. He focuses on inpatient endocrinology with a specific interest in quality improvement. Since coming to UNC he has developed a diabetes co-management service, the Diabetes Care Team, and a fracture liaison service with the help of multiple people in the Division of Endocrinology, Department of Medicine and UNC Medical Center. These services have led to improved care for patients admitted to the UNC Medical Center with diabetes and osteoporosis. Morgan heads several inpatient quality improvement initiatives focused on continual improvement in diabetes care. His clinical interest is diverse with a focus on diabetes after transplant. Since 2018, he has cared for the majority of patients who underwent islet cell transplant at UNC and developed a multi-disciplinary clinic for these patients to streamline care.
