UNC is well-situated for clinical trials, from a proximity to industry at the Research Triangle Park to solid infrastructure to handle such trials. All phases of clinical research are represented at UNC, including a Phase I section led by Dr. Claire Dees. Fellows are well-incorporated into ongoing protocols and are encouraged to submit letters of intent for their own protocols in order to become proficient at all facets of clinical research. Dr. Dees heads a formal curriculum on clinical research and both Masters and non-degree programs are available to lay the groundwork for a successful career in clinical research.
