Cassandra Donahue RDN, LDN, CDCES, and Karla Fulghum, RN, IBCLC, were honored with Research Staff Excellence Awards.
Karla is a nurse consultant with the Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Obesity Clinical Research Unit (EnDO CRU) and has been heavily involved in the first inpatient research trial. She has been spending long hours at the hospital and is helping identify and overcome obstacles. Her hard work is helping pave the way to build a system for us to conduct more inpatient trials.
Cassandra is a clinical research coordinator and also a registered dietitian (RD). In her role as an RD, she ensures that the EnDO CRU research subjects get personally tailored nutrition advice. We are also grateful for her dedication to recruiting and helping with regulatory work for new, principal investigator initiated research.
