If you go to the fifth floor of the recently opened Roper Hall, you’ll find Room 5227F. A small plaque by the door of this clinical exam room reads, Through the generosity of a grateful patient in honor of Ellen Parker Wilkes, ANP-BC.

Wilkes, an Adult Nurse Practitioner in the Division of Geriatric Medicine says, “One of the patients I’ve cared for since I started 13 years ago very generously decided to name a space in Roper Hall in my honor!” This exam room will be used by both medical school students and interprofessional learners with standardized patient interactions and other clinical skills.

With the opening of Roper Hall, the UNC School of Medicine adds six floors of training space, cutting-edge technology, large classrooms, seminar rooms, study spaces, a 240-person Active Learning Center, a student lounge, wellness center, and more.
