
Ross Simpson, Jr, MD, PhD, professor medicine in the division of cardiology, was interviewed for an MSN article “50 Warnings Signs You Have Heart Disease” that identifies a variety of signs, symptoms and risk factors that can help identify heart disease before it becomes life-threatening.
“Chest pain is the most common and important symptom related to a heart problem,” explains Simpson in the article. “This symptom is often described as a tightness in the chest, or a fullness in the chest,” he says. “Only rarely is the chest pain sharp like a knife.”
