About

Anna grew up in Mount Airy, NC, before attending UNC Chapel Hill for college, where she earned a B.S. in Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy & Management and a minor in chemistry. She spent her gap year interning for the United Nations Refugee Agency, and as a consultant for UNICEF. She found her path to medicine after volunteering at a free clinic in rural NC. Anna is excited to apply her background in public health to internal medicine, and is passionate about expanding holistic care to underserved populations, particularly immigrants and refugees. Although she tried to keep an open mind during 3rd year rotations in Asheville, the complex problem-solving and wide range of care led her to internal medicine. She is very interested in medical education, and is excited to support classmates in making the most of their IM rotation!
