About

Ben is originally from Northeast Georgia and attended Emmanuel College where he majored in mathematics. After college, Ben worked as a full-time AEMT and also served as a volunteer firefighter in his rural hometown. He went to medical school at Mercer University and in recognition of his outstanding performance he was inducted into the AOA Honor Society. Ben and his wife, Landon, moved to Chapel Hill for residency with their two Miniature Dachshunds, Randy and Banjo. Following residency, he plans to pursue a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine, with a focus on preventative cardiology and rural health advocacy. Ben is a lifelong fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves. He enjoys being outdoors, cycling, running, and has completed 3 Ironman triathlons!
