Bhavana Ambil was born and raised in Charlotte, NC before attending NC State University, where she earned a B.S. in Human Biology with a minor in Global Public Health. Before enrolling in UNC SOM, she worked with the NC Early Childhood Foundation to help build their Pathways Action Map and tutored underserved students during the COVID-19 pandemic with NC Education Corps. Coming from a family of engineers and having initially majored in Computer Science, she fell in love with the problem-solving and complex interplay of pathophysiology in Internal Medicine. She is passionate about decreasing readmission rates through better transitions of care and improving inpatient outcomes through quality improvement initiatives. This fall, she will be applying to Internal Medicine with an interest in Pulmonary and Critical Care. She is excited to serve in this role to help others love Internal Medicine as much as she does!
