About

David earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of South Carolina Upstate, where he received the Magellan Scholar Award for his research on the physiological effects of caffeine. In recognition of his service to the university and nobility of character, David was also awarded the Earl Gordon Medal upon graduation. David completed his medical degree at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville (UofSC-SOMG), where he simultaneously completed the Lifestyle Medicine Distinction Track – a longitudinal honors curriculum wherein he received extensive training in nutrition and Culinary Medicine. David’s commitment to medicine and his peers led him to serve as a member of the UofSC-SOMG Honor and Professionalism Committee for four years, and later as a member of the UofSC-SOMG Admissions Committee during his senior year. David is thrilled to be joining the UNC community along with his wife, Catherine Eve, who is in the Pediatric Primary Care Track at UNC. Outside of the hospital, David enjoys trips to Fripp Island with his wife, exploring new cycling and running trails, playing drums and guitar, and studying macroeconomics and the financial markets.
