Dipen is from Illinois and attended the University of Illinois where he majored in Bioengineering.  As a medical student, Dipen was committed to working with the underserved and was a coordinator for both the student free clinic as well as the “Sight Savers” clinic in Detroit.  In recognition of his outstanding service and compassion, Dipen was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dipen has worked for the past year as a research assistant with the UNC Department of Ophthalmology.  In his free time, Dipen enjoys scuba diving and martial arts (he has a black belt in Taekwondo!).
