About

Dominic grew up in the Apex and Fuquay Varina area of North Carolina and attended Davidson College, where he graduated with High Honors in Hispanic Studies.  After graduation from Davidson, Dominic went to California to work as a Project Coordinator for the Palo Alto Medical Foundation Innovation Center where he helped to develop and deploy a community health project aimed at reducing social isolation and loneliness in seniors.  Then he worked at Stanford School of Medicine Clinical Excellence Research Center where he coordinated a postdoc design fellowship which developed new care delivery models to reduce healthcare costs.  Interested in caring for Spanish-speaking patients, he attended medical school at Ponce Health Sciences University in Puerto Rico.  He returned to California for a summer as a Medical Student Training in Aging Research (MSTAR) student at UCSF where he examined the relationship between life satisfaction and health outcomes among ADL-disabled older adults.  With a commitment to Geriatric medicine, he helped found and served as president of the Geriatrics Student Interest Group at Ponce.  He has worked passionately to advocate and care for older adults, Spanish-speaking patients, and the LGBTQ community.  In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Dominic has been inducted into both the AOA and GHHS Honor Societies.  In his free time, Dominic enjoys running, film and literature, and being with his dog, Biscuit.
