Hunter Wike, MD
About
Hunter grew up in Canton, a small town near Asheville, North Carolina. He attended East Tennessee State University for college where he played as a wide receiver and served as the captain of the varsity Football team. After college, he returned home and worked as a behavioral therapist for a family services group, worked directly with a non-verbal teenager with severe autism spectrum disorder, and worked as a TA with the high school in an intensive integration classroom for kids with learning disabilities. During this time, he also served as an assistant coach for his old high school football team. As a medical student, he has served as a team leader for the Interprofessional Education Curriculum and volunteered as a referee for the Special Olympics. In his free time, Hunter enjoys fishing, golf, tennis and basketball.
