Jarrod Suddreth, MD

About

Jarrod is from Lenoir, North Carolina and attended North Carolina A&T State University where he obtained his BS in Nursing.  After graduation, Jarrod worked as a Registered Nurse for five years at Caldwell UNC Health in Lenoir in the cardiac and medical ICU units with critically ill patients.  Despite a love for his job, he found himself wanting to be able to learn more and be able to provide the level of care to patients that he saw internists doing.  Jarrod came to UNC for medical school and was selected to participate in the Rural Scholar’s Program, making a commitment to return home to care for the people of his community after training. As a student, he completed a summer internship in a rural setting and participated in the Migrant Farm Worker Experience. In recognition of his outstanding commitment to serving in an underserved area, Jarrod received the Frank Lee Dameron Award from the Whitehead Society of the UNC School of Medicine. Jarrod enjoys taking his chihuahua for long walks, movies, video games, cooking, and doing most everything with his identical twin brother who is also a nurse with the UNC healthcare system!
