Krishan is originally from Cary, NC and attended Duke University for college before coming to UNC for medical school where he will graduate with a combined MD/MPH degree with the UNC School of Public Health. Krishan also completed the UNC Clinician Leadership in Quality Improvement Scholarly Concentration and obtained a Certificate in Healthcare Quality Improvement. His QI work involved working with a project to distribute EPIC enabled home blood pressure monitors to hypertensive patients. His MPH work focused on the prevalence and prognostic significance of aortic stenosis in heart failure patients, leading him to work closely with the UNC cardiovascular team. Since then, Krishan has also been very involved with multiple cardiovascular research projects and co-led the team’s project investigating the prevalence and prognostic significance of mitral regurgitation in heart failure patients. Krishan has also been actively involved in service and community work, co-founding a nonprofit organization called North Carolinian Youth for Peace which aims to fundraise for individuals adversely affected by the Sri Lankan Civil War. Krishan enjoys birdwatching, gardening, fishing, and is a highly rated Super Smash Brothers Ultimate player as well as 5-star rated professional dog walker.
