Leta Yi, MD
About
Leta grew up in Chicago and Nashville and attended the University of Rochester for college where she majored in Biology. As a medical student impacted by the COVID 19 pandemic, Leta decided to devote her time to co-founding a Human Rights Initiative with Rochester’s School of Medicine. From there, she helped to build the school’s first clinic for asylum seekers, focusing on caring for ICE detainees from a nearby detention center. In recognition of her outstanding compassion and commitment to the care of others, Leta was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Outside of medicine and her advocacy work, Leta enjoys playing the piano, choir, theater, performing in the a cappella group, and playing guitar.
