Mackenzie is originally from Cincinnati and attended The Ohio State University for both her undergraduate studies and medical school. Her clinical interests include Hospital Medicine and Palliative Care. As a resident, she has been involved in a resident education project focused on improving goals of care discussions, advocated for Spanish-speaking patients as a certified bilingual provider, and worked to enhance residency recruitment of applicants with a broad range of experiences. Outside of medicine, Mackenzie enjoys spending time with her partner, a resident at Duke, and engaging in outdoor activities like running, hiking, and sailing.
