About

Mackenzie is originally from Cincinnati and attended The Ohio State University where she majored in molecular genetics. As a medical student, Mackenzie has been involved in multiple research projects focusing on cholangiocarcinoma and surveillance for HCC in high risk patients, served as a volunteer for the Clinica Latina, and worked as a mentor for college women interested in medicine. In recognition of her outstanding performance, she was selected as one of only 8 students for the “Honors in IM”. Mackenzie enjoys sailing and is a certified US sailing instructor and used her expertise as an instructor with the Adaptive Sports and Wellness group as she helped to teach people with physical and mental disabilities how to sail. Mackenzie will be joining her partner who matched into Urology at Duke!
