About

Manisha grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and attended UNC for college where she was enrolled in the BSPH program and graduated with a degree in public health, chemistry, and Spanish. She has been actively engaged in volunteer and research work focused on health equity and community engagement, participating in the Bioethics Trail Program at the University of Colorado. Her research work focused on access to healthcare for undocumented immigrants included an analysis of state Medicaid policies regarding coverage of kidney-replacement therapy and cancer for undocumented immigrants. This project resulted in multiple manuscripts, an opportunity to testify to state leaders as part of legislative committee, and a poster presentation at SGIM. She also helped to create a narrative medicine course and has received multiple awards for her research work and volunteerism, including the Bardsley Family Foundation Award for Humanism in Medicine
