About

Savannah grew up in Tennessee and graduated from the Tennessee Technical College with a degree in Biochemistry. As an MD/PhD student, she focused her research on colonocyte derived lactate and its promotion of enterobacteria fitness in non-infectious colitis. Savannah has also been committed to service and mentoring, and was a founding member of the Respect, Equity, Accountability, Diversity, and Inclusion (READI) committee where she worked to advocate for recruitment and retention of URiM applicants into the MSTP programs. She has served as a student representative on the MSTP admissions committee, a member of the wellness committee, and a peer mentor and advocate. Savannah is planning on pursuing a career as a physician scientist in GI medicine. In her spare time, Savannah enjoys music and is a member of the student orchestra and Music Ensembles!
