Saira Sheikh, MD

Saira Sheikh, MD, assistant professor of medicine in the division of rheumatology, allergy and immunology, was interviewed for a Self Magazine article recognizing that the spring allergy season is more complicated than ever with coronavirus in the mix.

In the article, Sheikh recognizes the value of telemedicine visits, especially during a time when people are trying to social distance and stay safe.

“Allergists can actually gather a ton of important information from a telemedicine appointment, Sheikh said. “They can look at your eyes and nose for signs of irritation or watery discharge, see how you’re breathing, pay attention to coughing or throat clearing, look for signs of congestion, talk with you about your medical history and symptoms, and more.”
