Congratulations to Ana Cartaya, pharmacology graduate student in Edward Moreira Bahnson’s lab, for being awarded a “Young Investigator Award” at the 2019 SfRBM Annual Conference.
Ana received her award, which includes a certificate, a cash prize, and free registration for either the 2020 or 2021 Annual Conference, at the Closing Banquet Ceremony for her presentation, “Macrophage-Mediated Targeted Delivery of Redox Interventions for the Prevention of Restenosis.” The presentation was evaluated by 3 independent judges on 3 criteria: accuracy, impact, and presenter. The judges scores were combined with the online abstract review for a final score that positioned Ana among this year’s winners. Dr. Bahnson writes, “Needless to say, this is a major accomplishment, as SfRBM has a very rigorous judging system and the organization is recognized for its scientific excellence”.
