Congratulations to the Lab of Victoria L. Bautch, Ph.D., Beverly Long Chapin Distinguished Professor of Biology; Co-Director, UNC McAllister Heart Institute, for publishing their exciting review of bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signaling in blood vessels in the journal Cellular and Molecular Life Sciences.
The work from Dr. Bautch’s Lab was led by Cell Biology and Physiology (CBP) graduate student, Molly Kulikauskas, and former post-baccalaureate (postbac) student, Shaka X, and was a great use of pandemic-enforced downtime. It was supported by Molly’s National Science Foundation (NSF) Predoctoral Fellowship, Shaka’s University of North Carolina Post-Bac Research Education Program (UNC-PREP), and Dr. Bautch’s National Institutes of Health (NIH) Outstanding Investigator Award.
