Congratulations to Nick Buglak, a toxicology and environmental medicine Ph.D. student in the Bahnson Research Group, for publishing paper, titled “A Rat Carotid Artery Pressure-Controlled Segmental Balloon Injury with Periadventitial Therapeutic Application”, in JoVE.
Nick’s methods paper details the rat carotid pressure-controlled segmental balloon injury, a surgical procedure used in vascular labs to recapitulate the vascular injury caused by percutaneous interventions. The article describes the surgical procedure, periadventitial application of experimental therapeutics, and two methods of analysis: traditional histology and 3D light fluorescence microscopy. The work is featured in the July 9, 2020 edition of JoVE and can be read online now.
