Julia Sung

Julia Sung graduated from Harvard University with a BA in Biochemical Sciences. She then obtained her MD degree from Yale School of Medicine, where she joined Dr. Sara Rockwell’s laboratory, performing research on the effects of black cohosh on breast cancer cell growth and response to chemotherapeutic agents. She then went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she pursued basic research on HIV elite controllers with Dr. Joel Blankson in the lab of Dr. Robert Siliciano. Following this, Julia began a fellowship in infectious diseases at Duke University. After completing her clinical year, she joined the Margolis lab in the summer of 2012 and is presently working on immune mediated clearance of the latent HIV reservoir.
