Our Mission
Accelerating Lung Research with Standardized Cell Cultures
The Marsico Lung Institute Tissue Procurement and Cell Culture Core (MLI TPC) is the established, centralized core dedicated to providing the highest-quality biological materials for researchers studying cystic fibrosis (CF) and other lung diseases.
Why MLI TPC? High-fidelity research requires high-fidelity samples. Our well-differentiated human airway epithelial cell cultures are instrumental for basic and applied studies into CF cell biology and the development of new treatments. We provide a standardized, de-identified central source of materials from normal, cystic fibrosis, and various disease control donors cells, ensuring consistency and reproducibility in your experiments.
Our Core Resources: We offer a diverse catalog of cell types, including:
- Airway Epithelial Cells (Large and Small)
- Lung Microvascular Endothelial Cells
- Fibroblasts Cells
- Three Custom Growth Medias (available for purchase under “Services” via iLabs)
Our Track Record: The MLI TPC has a proven history of high-volume production and quality assurance. Since 1982, we have processed over 8,600 human tissue specimens. Our recent output highlights our capacity: between 2020 and 2023, we generated an average of over viable primary and passage one human airway epithelial cells annually.
