UNC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is proud to share that Ob/Gyn resident Dr. LeAnn Louis has been selected for the 2026–2027 Betsey, Lucy, and Anarcha Editorial Mentorship Program through Obstetrics & Gynecology, the official journal of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).

Launched in 2024, the Betsey, Lucy, and Anarcha Editorial Mentorship Program is designed to advance equity in academic publishing and ensure that historical injustices are not perpetuated through research, training, or clinical practice. This year‑long program includes virtual seminars, mentored peer reviews, editorial conference calls, and opportunities for participants to connect and network with peers, mentors, and journal editors.

Dr. Louis expressed both gratitude and enthusiasm for the opportunity, sharing:

“I am so honored to have been selected for the ACOG Obstetrics & Gynecology Editorial Mentorship Program. I’m especially excited for the upcoming workshop in Washington, DC and the opportunity to learn from experienced editors, gain deeper insight into the peer-review and editorial process, and connect with leaders in our field. I look forward to developing skills that will help me become a more effective reviewer and author and allow me to contribute meaningfully to the academic field of obstetrics.”
