Kristin Tulley

We are proud to recognize the work of Maternal Fetal Medicine Research Associate Professor Kristin Tully, PhD, who has recently co‑authored two new peer‑reviewed publications. Dr. Tully’s collaborative research highlights the experiences and consequences of Black women’s interactions with clinicians during high‑risk pregnancies.

The first article, published in the Women’s Health Issues (WHI) journal and titled “Black Women’s Accounts of Clinician Interactions in the Context of High‑Risk Pregnancies,” uses principles of relationship‑centered care to examine individual accounts of patient experiences with clinicians. You can read the study, here.

The second article, titled “PTSD‑Like Symptoms Among Postpartum Black Women: The Lasting Impact of High‑Risk Pregnancies, Birth Trauma, and Mistreatment During Perinatal Care,” explores patients’ accounts of negative perinatal care experiences in the context of high‑risk pregnancy. You can read the study, here.
