Speaker Biography

Dr. Bhandari is a Distinguished University Professor and Chair of the Department of Surgery at McMaster University. He also holds a Senior Tier Canada Research Chair in Surgical Innovation. He received his Masters Degree in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics from McMaster University and his PhD Degree from Goteborg University (Sweden). With over 1000 publications, 60 million dollars in research funding, and several textbook editorships, he is among the among the top 10 most cited orthopaedic fracture surgeons in the world.  He has mentored over 200 students (undergraduate, Masters and PhD) in his career. He has been inducted into the Order of Ontario, and Canada’s highest civilian honor, the Order of Canada.
