We are thrilled to announce that the Children’s CLABSI Reduction team won an award at the Quality Expo, October 24, 2024. The poster received the Carolina Quality award for “The project submission that best exemplifies the Carolina Quality Values.” The Initiative to reduce CLABSI across UNC Children’s resulted in a 54% decrease in CLABSI in FY24 compared to FY23 – a reduction in 20 CLABSIs. The major components of reduction approach were:
- Standardization of processes across UNC Children’s;
- Accountability of results;
- Data Transparency and Visibility.
