Research
Dr. Muhlebach’s research interests include expertise in cystic fibrosis, as well as other lung diseases. Specific topics include understanding the role of the microbiome (the diversity of bacteria) occurring in CF lungs as it relates to different ages and stages of CF lung disease; developing treatment algorithms for methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in cystic fibrosis; and evaluating adherence to infection control and evaluating interventions to reduce occurrence of antimicrobial resistance in people with cystic fibrosis.
