A Pioneering Facility Dedicated to Improving the Lives of MPS Patients and Advancing Research
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill proudly announces the grand opening of the Muenzer MPS Research and Treatment Center, a cutting-edge facility dedicated to enhancing the lives of patients with Mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS). The opening ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, marking a major milestone in MPS patient care and research at UNC Chapel Hill.
The event will feature a video showcasing the center’s development, followed by a welcoming message from Dr. Kim Stephens (Executive Director, Muenzer MPS Center). The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Joseph Muenzer (Director, Muenzer MPS Center, Bryson Distinguished Professor), who will highlight the center’s mission and vision. Attendees will also enjoy tours of the state-of-the-art facility, live entertainment from a local band, and the opportunity to meet the center’s expert team, including specialists in genetics, enzyme replacement therapy, developmental testing, and clinical trials.
