Morbidity, Mortality, & Improvement

The UNC Children’s MM&I Conference takes places at Noon on the 4th Friday of each month.

The UNC Children’s Hospital continues to emphasize safe and high-quality patient care as the focus of our clinical care mission. In an effort to promote patient safety, a monthly children’s hospital-wide morbidity, mortality, and improvement (MM&I) conference has been implemented. The conference focuses on systems-based problems, includes representation from multiple clinical departments, and seeks to provide objective, nonjudgmental review of adverse outcomes in order to positively affect real process change. More on the conference and our ongoing plans for process improvement is coming soon.
