Aaron Nelson

Aaron Nelson, president and CEO, Chapel Hill/Carrboro Chamber of Commerce, will serve as chair of the Center’s advisory board. He has headed the Chamber for 14 years, has been the executive director of the Chamber’s charitable economic and community development affiliate since its creation in 2004, and is co-chair of the national Chambers for Innovation and Clean Energy, as well as co-founder of the national Institute for Sustainable Development. He is a UNC-CH graduate.

Four new members have joined the Board this year: Lori Taylor, vice president and wealth management advisor, Fifth Third Private Bank in North Carolina; Michael Williams, president, Facio Consulting Group and Associates; Lee Bowman, project manager, Briar Chapel, a master-planned development in Chapel Hill (Chatham County); and Brian Stabler, PhD, a clinical psychologist, and professor emeritus, UNC Psychiatry.

The board supports the mission of the Center by advising and assisting in the development of its overall strategy. Board members will serve as advocates for the Center to increase its visibility internally and externally and assist in fundraising efforts. The board, created in May 2014, is voluntary.
