High Fidelity ACT 101 Training
Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is an evidence-based program staffed by multiple disciplines working together as a team. It provides comprehensive services to people with severe mental illness in the community. Come learn what high-fidelity ACT looks like!
This four-part live webinar training series covers the breadth of high-fidelity ACT services and organizational features such as staffing and the daily team meeting. Other topics include ACT Leadership, ACT Medical Team, and ACT Specialty areas, including co-occurring substance use disorder, employment, peer support, housing, and psychiatric rehabilitation). Other core areas include the use of assertive outreach and assessment and person-centered planning.
This web-based training is led by Institute for Best Practice staff, Lorna Moser, Ph.D., Stacy Smith, M.Ed., LCMHC, MINT Member, and Jacob Schonberg, B.S., CPSS. Dr. Moser is the Director of the Institute for Best Practices, which is a part of the UNC Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health and is the co-author of the Tool for Measurement of ACT (TMACT). Ms. Smith is a senior trainer and consultant at the Institute, a former ACT team leader, and a member of MINT, and has held many, many jobs in her lifetime (you’ll hear more about that later). Mr. Schonberg is a Peer Support Consultant and Trainer with 14 years of experience as an ACT-certified peer support specialist, as well as training and experience in a range of wellness management and recovery supports.
