I am pleased to share some news from the Center. We celebrated our 25th Annual STEP Symposium in April, and we were excited to have Lisa Dixon MD, MPH, and Daniel Weinberger, MD, join us. Our Eighth Annual Community Psychiatrists’ Symposium in May featured interesting discussions on upcoming changes in the mental health system.

In this issue, you can read more details about our symposiums and other news. Austin Hall, MD, who joined the Center in 2015 and, most recently, was the medical director for the STEP Clinics at Carr Mill, has taken on a new leadership role as medical director for the Center. He will oversee all clinics and programs. Beth Rossi, who joined the Center in 2011 as part of the XDS merger, fills a newly-created clinical manager position and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Center’s three clinics as well as manages the Center’s International CARF accreditation.

We recently welcomed two new advisory board members: Laurie Paolicelli and Matthew Gilmore.

Currently, we are planning our Fifth Annual No Limits Gala and auctions, scheduled for Nov. 1, 2018, at the George Watts Hill Center on the UNC-CH campus. I hope you will join us for another important fundraising event for the Center. Registration details are included in this newsletter and on our website unccmh.org.

I am grateful for the continued support of our excellent staff, the Center Advisory Board, donors and patients.

Best wishes for a good summer.
