Therapist

Deborah “Debbie” Redman, MSW, LCSW, LCAS-A, a therapist at Wake Encompass since January 2017, was named its clinical director July 1, 2019. Previously, she worked as a mental health therapist with Wake County Human Services, serving patients in several settings, to include, homeless services, crisis services and a mental health clinic. Redman joined UNC School of Medicine at WakeBrook as a therapist in 2013.

Her clinical responsibilities, currently, include providing assessment and treatment to patients experiencing a first episode of psychosis (FEP) related to psychotic disorders and possible co-occurring substance use disorders. Her clinical interests include the treatment of severe and persistent mental illness, family systems, working with vulnerable populations and the impact of poverty on treatment and systems. She is also responsible for supervising therapists, program development, administrative needs and fostering center and community partnerships.

She received her bachelor’s degree in social work from the State University of New York at Buffalo and her master’s in social work from East Carolina University.
