Brushes with Life announces two new exhibits
While several Brushes with Life (BWL) artists are busy preparing for the Dog Parade Art Exhibit in the fall, the program announces two additional exhibits.
Plans are underway for an opening celebration on September 12 at 6:00 p.m. for an exhibit at the UNC Student Union. The opening presentation will be followed by a screening of No Kidding, Me 2! and a panel discussion about the film. The event is sponsored by NAMI Orange County and the following student groups: The UNC Student Union, the student NAMI organization, and Rethink Psychiatric Illness. The exhibit runs September 18-October 18.
The FRANK Gallery on Franklin Street will work with Brushes with Life artists to create an oil painting exhibit opening in the fall of 2016. Artists from the Chapel Hill area will mentor the BWL artists as they prepare for the exhibit.
Center staff and faculty will present at the NAMI conference in October
Center staff and faculty representing three programs will participate in the NAMI NC Annual Conference, “Transforming the Face of Mental Illness in North Carolina,” to be held October 23-24, 2015, at the McKimmon Conference Center in Raleigh.
