Francis Greenburger, successful real estate developer, author, and mental health advocate, was the featured speaker at the Center’s Fourth Annual No Limits Gala on Nov. 2, 2017 at the George Watts Hill Alumni Center on the UNC Campus.

Friends and supporters celebrated the evening with dinner, music, as well as inaugural silent and live auctions. John Gilmore, MD, director of the Center, welcomed guests; Michael Williams, chair of the Center’s Advisory Board, hosted the evening and led a lively auction.

Following dinner, Francis Greenburger shared his family’s experience with mental health and the legal system.

He is the founder and CEO of Time Equities, Inc., a multibillion-dollar real estate investment and development company, as well as chair of Sanford J. Greenburger Associates, a literary agency. He is also founder of the Greenburger Center for Social and Criminal Justice in New York and the Omi International Arts Center.

Greenburger also received the Center’s Community Mental Health Advocacy Award for his contributions to improve mental health.

“So much of what the Center does is new and innovative; it is typically not paid for with traditional clinical revenue,” says John Gilmore, MD, director of the Center and Thad and Alice Eure Professor and vice chair of research in the department of psychiatry.

“We rely on fundraising to bridge the budget gap for a number of our programs, and we are grateful for the support of our donors and sponsors for our gala.”
