Welcome to the UNC Psychiatry Residency website! I appreciate your interest in our outstanding program. Our residency is characterized by a wide breadth of clinical opportunities and a collegial, supportive community. In the four-year curriculum, our trainees rotate through the UNC Neurosciences Hospital which contains seven unique inpatient psychiatric units, each with a subspecialty focus. Our outpatient psychiatry clinics and community partners serve a similarly broad spectrum of patients with mental illness. The residency also affords residents the chance to pursue their own interests in one of several specialized tracks, train at the psychoanalytic institute in town, or conduct research in their area of interest.
