Meet three brothers, all UNC psychiatrists and double Tar Heels.

Dr. Pittleman is a psychologist working in the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities (CIDD) where she provides behavior consultations for medically complex youth and supports the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) training program. She also provides behavior consultations for Pediatric Neurology patients.

Crystal Schiller, PhD has been selected to serve as Director of the UNC Center for Women’s Mood Disorders. She was previously serving as Associate Director under Dr. Samantha Meltzer-Brody’s leadership. This was the first study to examine white matter microstructure in school-aged children with Down Syndrome. A spatially specific pattern of results indicated a dissociation between intra- and inter-hemispheric pathways, which could inform more targeted interventions and clinical trials in Down Syndrome.
