Program Overview

The Suicide Prevention Statewide Collaborative is an extension of the Our State, Our Wellbeing program that was launched by the Suicide Prevention Institute and the Carolina Across 100 in August 2023. It continues and builds on the success of that 12-month initiative. The project team focuses on how to identify and implement strategies that improve mental health and reduce the number of suicides in North Carolina. The program has a robust network of suicide prevention advocates and champions across the state. It supports their local efforts and shares best practices, funding and training opportunities, and success stories that make an impact.

Program Impact

The impact of suicide and mental health are felt and shared across every community in North Carolina. They affect people of all races, backgrounds, geographic areas, socioeconomic statuses, and more. However, each community experiences the impact of suicide differently and brings different assets, resources, and relationships to this challenge. That is where the Suicide Prevention Statewide Collaborative makes tangible progress. The project aligns local-level input and context alongside coordinated efforts across state-level partners and systems.
