Andrea Hayes-Jordan, Chief, Division of Pediatric Surgery and Surgeon-in-Chief of UNC Children’s Hospital was elected President-elect of the Society of Black Academic Surgeons (SBAS).

The mission of the SBAS is to improve health, advance science, and foster careers of African American and other underrepresented minority surgeons. Throughout her career, Dr. Hayes-Jordan has exemplified the qualities of a great leader including dedication, excellence, experience, and passion. It is with great pride that the UNC Department of Surgery congratulates Dr. Hayes-Jordan on her election as president-elect of the SBAS.
