Congratulations to Gita Mody, MD, who was recently selected to receive a TSF Research Award.
Dr. Mody was selected by The Thoracic Surgery Foundation (TSF) for her project entitled, “Improving Lung Cancer Surgery Using Patient Centered Outcomes” in the amount of $80,000 for the period July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2021.
The mission of the TSF is to foster the development of surgeon scientists in cardiothoracic surgery; increasing knowledge and innovation to benefit patient care.
The Thoracic Surgery Foundation supports research and education initiatives to:
- Expand the specialty’s knowledge about cardiothoracic surgical treatment options
- Enhance the care of patients with cardiothoracic diseases
- Develop the skills of cardiothoracic surgeons, both as surgeon-scientists and as health policy leaders
