In 2016, Melina Kibbe, MD, was the 15th woman in the country to become chair of a department of surgery and the first female chair of the department at The University of Chapel Hill. She is on a mission for sex equity in biomedical research and dedicated to her work in Vascular Surgery. She spent an hour Monday, October 1, 2018 with host Frank Stacio at the State of Things studios in Durham discussing a variety of health and research issues, as well as life experiences that shaped her from childhood and throughout her career.
