“Novel mechanisms of microRNA-mediated anabolic effects in osteoarthritis”
Brief Description: Through the novel use of in vivo protein deamidation molecular clocks, we unmasked a position-dependent gradient of protein anabolism in human lower limb cartilages. This gradient is strikingly associated with the expression of evolutionarily-conserved limb-regenerative miRNAs. This association shows a potential link to a capacity for regeneration that might be exploited to enhance joint repair.
