We are excited to share that UNC Hospitals has been selected as the NC ROOTS (North Carolina Rural Organizations Orchestrating Transformation for Sustainability) Hub Lead for Region 4 as part of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services’ Rural Health Transformation Program.

As one of UNC Hospitals’ key partners, the Center for Thriving Communities, along with its Abacus service arm, will play an important role in this work to learn what rural communities need and create a plan of action. NC ROOTS Hub Leads are locally governed networks that coordinate care and drive initiatives across North Carolina’s Medicaid regions. We are proud to be part of this effort to support rural health across our region, and strengthen community collaborations across the state.
