Institution:

University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Medicine

About:

Research in the Brouwer laboratory involves both non-clinical and clinical studies focused on: (1) hepatobiliary xenobiotic disposition including mechanisms of hepatic uptake, translocation and biliary excretion; (2) mechanisms of transporter-mediated drug-induced liver injury; (3) development/refinement of strategies (e.g., in vitro model systems, pharmacokinetic modeling and simulation) to predict the impact of hepatic transporter-mediated alterations due to disease, genetics, and pharmacologic/toxicologic interactions.
