This full-day continuing education event will include presentations by orthopaedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians and advanced practice providers, physical therapists and athletic trainers, dietitians, sports psychologists, and sport science researchers to share up-to-date information and novel research to improve the care of active individuals. Anticipated topics for this year include operative and non-operative management of hip conditions (intra- and extra-articular) and injury recovery and performance with a holistic perspective (nutrition, psychology, sleep, and team-based decision making).

UNC Running Symposium 2024 is May 3, 2024

Running medicine healthcare professionals are invited to participate in this day long program designed for practitioners who have an interest in working with and treating running athletes. The day of learning will include presentations on diagnosis, treatment, research, education and prevention of athletic injuries presented by experts from many different areas including physical therapy, orthopaedic  and sports medicine, women’s health, nutrition, sports psychology, and technology in running footwear and recovery tools. The format will be a series of lectures with ample time for Q&A and break times for networking with the presenters and colleagues as well an opportunity to visit our vendors exhibiting their latest trends in footwear, apparel, and running technology.

There will be an optional, limited attendance half day lab course on Saturday, May 4, 2024. This smaller hands-on experience will feature clinics on strengthening and running drills, yoga for runners, and other interactive sessions. Space for the lab will be limited to first 60 persons who sign up.
