Dr. Ray Tan, Assistant Professor of Urology and Urologic Oncology Fellowship Program Directory has been named the 2021-2022 James W. Woods Junior Faculty Award. The aim of the award is to support and retain promising young members of the UNC School of Medicine clinical faculty.

Congratulations to Dr. Tan for being selected to serve as an inaugural member of the Advisory Committee for the Prostate MR Image Quality Improvement Collaborative - a collaborative of the newly-formed American College of Radiology Learning Network.

UNC Urology’s Hung-Jui (Ray) Tan, MD, MSHPM and Soohyun Hwang, MPH, a PhD Candidate in the Department of Health Policy and Management have been awarded a pilot grant sponsored by Advancing Cancer Treatment (ACT).

This year’s Resident of the Year Award was given to Yousef Abu-Salha, MD, a current 3rd Year and the Attending of the Year award was presented to Ray Tan, MD, MSHPM.

Congratulations to Drs. Borawski, Coward, Figler, Nielsen, Raynor, Ross, Smith, Sutherland, Tan, Viprakasit, and Wallen received the 2021 'Top Doctor' designation from Castle Connolly.

Hung-Jui "Ray" Tan, MD, MSHPM has been awarded a Mentored Research Scholar Grant in Applied and Clinical Research by the American Cancer Society. This award will directly support Dr. Tan's research in Designing Visual Tools to Enhance Cancer Surgeon Decision-Making as well as additional career development in medical decision-making, clinical informatics, and implementation science.

We are pleased to announce that Hung-Jui "Ray" Tan, MD, MSHPM has been selected to participate in the 2020 Training Institute for Dissemination and Implementation Research in Cancer (TIDIRC), and program supported by the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences (DCCPS).

Congratulations to Hung-Jui "Ray" Tan, MD, MSHPM on his recent appointment to the American Urological Association's (AUA) Data Committee, an instrumental group in advancing the AUA’s data agenda, collection strategy, and abilities at identifying and prioritizing data and research topics, initiatives and projects.

Dr. Tan joined UNC in 2016 as an Assistant Professor of Urology and specializes in urologic oncology including prostate cancer. He also is a member of the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center
